In my painting, trickles are omnipresent. They appeared in my very first painting. For me, they have a meaning and a function.

They embody the forces that sculpt nature from mountain peaks to oceans. Those that link the elements together, the essence of matter and life: inertia, gravity, capillarity, osmolarity.

Neither abstract nor figurative, the visible trace they create is a reality.

The result is a more or less complex striated composition whose rhythm creates an aesthetic, a mathematical harmony.

The figurative work that I superimpose transparently on this framework retains its vibration and nuanced richness.

I am drawn to the subject of stripes. I see it as the primitive and timeless motif of architectural, pictorial and textile traditions.

This motif which links culture, habitation, habitat and landscape is one of my main avenues of research.
