February - March 2023, Galerie de la Gare, Saint Pierre 974.

about
This series brings together mixed media works on wood, acrylics, and oils on canvas, created between 2021 and 2025, exploring the theme of the transformation of our environment with ordinary wrecks as its main characters. They were presented in 2023 at the Galerie de la Gare (Saint Pierre, Réunion) and in 2025 at La Friche, a visual arts center, in the exhibition "Paysage intérieur" (Interior Landscape).
As in my previous works, the abstract framework emerges transparently through the figurative elements, lending the subject numerous nuances, versions, and subjective facets. Through this framework, I aim to give form to time and its relationship to matter. The subject appears to be in a state of transformation, itself subject to the flow, the corrosion, the invasion of another reality that reveals its past, its future, its perhaps. The anachronism of the object and the landscape, the silent engulfment of the machine, suggest supernatural phenomena of varying dimensions: a post-apocalyptic scene of a desert landscape, the vestige of expeditions amidst lush vegetation, shipwrecks stranded in the mountains of Réunion, railway misalignments, relics of space-time travel.
