about
Passionate about life, I have forged an intimate relationship with the body, its transformations, its death, its fluidities, in its entirety but also in its smallest elements.
The flows present in the Réunion landscape, the fatalism, the brutality and the resilience of nature make me read differently what attracts me to the Living.
Through painting, I experiment and translate this plastic reality that links Living and Landscape.
Interior Landscape presents different stages of this aesthetic research: the last paintings of the 22% series, the large Tampolo, and the Turpentine series.
22%, which began in 2021, questions our subjectivity, our perception and our influence on the environment and its transformations.
Tampolo, created during a residency at La Friche, in the continuity of my large-format plant works, immerses us in the absolutely living, abundant, reassuring and hostile plant landscape of the primary forest, a hidden landscape of multiple dimensions.
The Turpentine series, created in recent months during a residency at the Cité des Arts, dissolves figuration. It contains forms and structures sometimes common to the living and the mineral, to the infinitely large and the infinitely small.
We can glimpse the landscapes that are usually imperceptible, those of our imagination and those of our material reality, inner landscapes.
